This module is taught by: Professor Park Jean Took this module to clear my UEs and also to know more about the Korean History. I mapped this module to HY1741 – History Exchange Module. Overall, this module is not recommended unless you have no other choices. Which I don’t want to elaborate further but it was really bad.

And we experienced discrimination from the professor and one of the teaching assistants during our final test. Lastly, there were only 5 exchange students in that module and all 5 students were Singaporeans. Very high intensity of memory work is expected in almost all the modules I took here actually. Then you are expected to regurgitate out everything, which is typical of Korean education. You have to memorise formulas and answers from the textbook. Thirdly, the module demanded a lot of memorisation, from the 3 tests that we sat for. He probably thought we didn’t understand what he said, but to be honest, among the 5 of us, 2 of us had some proficiency in Korean. Sometimes he added additional explanations in Korean, but not when he used English to teach.

(And once he asked us, the exchange students, if we understood what he said in Korean, and said that this is why we should learn Korean when we didn’t answer him.) This wasted my time, though I can understand like 70% of what he said in Korean. He mumbles throughout the lesson, and uses Korean to teach the Korean students after explaining the concepts in English. It appears that this professor teach for the sake of teaching (and his research). Secondly, the professor cannot teach at all. It became really difficult to wake up in the morning when winter came, hence I skipped a few lectures. Allow me to elaborate.įirstly, the lecture timing was 9am, 2 lectures per week. This module was one of my most hated module LOL. This module is taught by: Professor Park SungnamĪs for the syllabus and grading components, it can be easily found in the school’s course website. As long as I pass this module, I would be fine. And I am pretty bad in Chem, so its a good chance since all modules read on exchange are transferred back as S/U. Decided to take a Chem module in Korea University because I needed to clear this module for my minor. I mapped CHEM326 to CM3242 – Instrumental Analysis II. HOKA156 – Introduction to Korean History (English)

The modules I took in Korea University for my exchange were:ĬHEM326 – Instrumental Analysis (English) Hence they are not NUS modules, but modules offered by Korea University (고려대학교). Hello! I am back with more module reviews, but this time round the reviews are for the modules I read during my exchange.
